Domaine Carneros is a unique winery best known for its sparkling wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. There is even a private tasting room where you can serve the table while overlooking the vineyard-covered hills. As anyone who has driven through Napa and Sonoma can tell you, no matter where you start, you know you will be near the gateway to wine country. The winery and the castle are only a few miles from where I felt offended when I started in American Canyon. Note: The wine tasting room at Carneros Winery and Castle in American Canyon is currently unavailable. You can have a wine with us - dinner in one of the many restaurants in the area or in a local bar or restaurant. The wine tasting at Domaine Carneros is one we constantly recommend to our guests, and one of the few wineries where you can relax. The vineyards of the winery in the Los Carneros region include a variety of red and white wines as well as a range of dry wines. The domains in Carne de Carteros are located in a private dining room where you can enjoy the table on a terrace overlooking the endless vineyards - overgrown hills. Choose From 20+ Wineries
There are about three dozen wineries in Carneros, some of which are in the Sonoma sector, but there's more if you're willing to take the long, scenic, and gently winding wine trail from Carneros. There are many renowned winemakers, vineyards, and even a brewery, and many use it as a main route to and from the wine country. For those interested in the most picturesque and scenic wine routes of the region, there are a number of other scenic routes available. The first includes producers of Sonoma and Carneros, including Gloria Ferrer, Donum Estate and MacRostie, and the second a number of producers from the Napa Valley. While the Napa Valley producer is known for its various varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, the winemaker Michael Beaulac produces Chardonnay, which comes from Collines Vineyard in Carneros. "This wine is about texture and complexity," he says, "and we have a number of other great wines to propose. It is made from many different varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and a little red wine from Napa Valley and Sonoma. We spent the afternoon enjoying barrel tasting with winemaker Michael Cox, and we will always adore every wine they share with their guests. Schug Winery is another Carneros Wineries we could visit, as well as their other wineries in the area. A little further away from the main road, they impressed us with all their delicious wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The compact tasting room in an 1850s farmhouse is complemented by several open-air tasting rooms. There are many different tastings, including a bar that can accommodate up to 10 people and a vineyard with a variety of wines. Ram's Gate specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, as well as other wines such as Chablis, Cabertos, Merlot, and Pinots Blancs. The sprawling, well-maintained grounds are dotted with several picnic tables, and there is a free museum with 21 California missions made for the 1939 World's Fair on Treasure Island (donations accepted). Just off Interstate 121, Saintsbury, a hidden gem in Napa's Carneros region, is one of the most underrated wineries in the state. Ram's Gate specializes in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which you can enjoy while discovering a variety of other wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chateau Blanc and Merlot. The tasting takes place in a wine cellar overlooking the vineyards, with a small tasting room and a large tasting table.
